Bar Harbor Restaurants
One of the things that most people will really enjoy about Bar Harbor is the
variety of restaurants. Seafood, especially lobster, dominates the menus. You
can also find other cuisine such as Cuban, Mexican and 50's retro. We found that
you can get a nice lobster lunch for a little under $20. We found the service to
be friendly but, as with most of Maine, a little slow at times. For the most
part, the leisurely pace worked for us. Reservations are a good idea.
Also, a number of the restaurants offer al-fresco dining. Be sure to bring a
sweater since it does get chilly in the evenings.
The number of restaurants creates healthy competition which works well for
the visitors. Here is a sampling of some of the many restaurants.

The Quarterdeck Inn
The Quarterdeck is on the corner of Main and West Streets. Many of the tables
offer a great view of the Harbor. The Harbor offers ever changing views of the
lobster boats and sailboats coming and going as well as an occasional cruise
ship.

Carmen Verandah and Rupunini Restaurants
Most of the restaurants are within easy walking
distance of the accommodations in town. If you are staying right outside the
town, keep in mind that parking can be difficult to find. You might want to
consider a shuttle if it is available. I was getting a little nervous with one
dinner when it was taking longer than the 2 hour parking limit.
