Camden MaineOverview - Camden is located about midway along the Maine coast. It is an older down with a beautiful harbor in it's center. The main street, Route 1, and Bay View Street which runs along the southern side of the harbor have a number of shops and restaurants. We ate at the Waterfront which has dockside tables

with your mouse Above is a panoramic view of Camden Harbor in the early morning. The harbor is picturesque at any time of the day. There are a number of good vantage points including the wharf along Bay View Street and from the Pavillion and Park near the Library. more views of the harbor . . Attractions - Camden Hills State Park offers a number of hiking trails. There are also a number of windjammers and fishing tours available in the harbor. Accommodations. There is a few mid sized hotels in the center of town. There are also a number of Bed and Breakfasts. We stayed at Timbercliffe Inn which turned out to be an excellent choice. Getting there - Camden is at least an hour's drive from Interstate 95 at Augusta. The traffic on the smaller roads can be quite heavy, especially when you are closer to the interstates.
